Lessons I learnt in my 52 years

Lessons I learnt in my 52 years

Pastor Abbiih Oloyede’s birthday message – she speaks about life lessons she has learnt from being believer and walking with God.

Bible Passage is
1 Cor 2:9-10
Phil. 4:8

Lessons include:

GOD MAKES THE DIFFERENCE.

Life happens to EVERYONE – good or bad, believer or unbeliever. We all have challenges and trials. The difference is simply GOD. when we give every situation to Him, He is able to make something good come out of any and every situation.

PERSISTENCE – HOLDING ON
I’ve learnt that in life. We must HOLD ON. We simply cannot afford to give up.
In addition to Persistence or developing the ability to persevere;
Another reason we have to hold on is because I’ve found:
“Things are never really as bad as they seem.”

RELATIONSHIPS – SUPPORT
I’ve learnt that our Relationships are so important.
We must be nice to others – at school, work, home, or wherever.
You don’t know who’s support you may need in future.

RELATIONSHIPS – MENTORING
I’ve learnt that even as professionals; we must relate within Church and outside of Church.
We all need Mentors, so our journeys don’t take longer than necessary.
Find yourself a Mentor you can sit with at least four times a year to plan.
We too should be Mentors to others ourselves (especially after we’ve crossed the age of 35).
A great example of ‘Mentoring’ is the Bible story of Ruth and Naomi.

RELATIONSHIPS – MARRIAGE
I’ve learnt that Marriage is a lot of work.
I wish someone had told me.
Season’s change and Paradigms shift.
I’ve also learnt that Marriage is enjoyable.
Over the years, we learn to accommodate each other.

I’ve learnt that God knows the end from the beginning.
So Give Thanks. Be thankful for all things and all relationships.
Marriage, Children, Family, Parents, Friends,
And even those who don’t like me/us, because they are part of our story.
May we fulfil destiny, In Jesus name, Amen.

GOD IS STILL AT THE CENTRE OF EVERYTHING.
